The college admissions season is passing, and within no time early admission decisions will be released. Have a look at our annual list of early decision notification dates!
Current college admissions cycle has been distinguish by lot of changes happened due to ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. Number of colleges have temporarily moved to test-optional admissions due to SAT/ACT cancellations, while the remaining have extended their deadlines to give applicants more time to assemble their applications.
However, some factors of this year’s application process may feel a bit mismatched, the excitement regarding decision notification dates remains high as always.
Early Decision and Early Action Trends
In a college admissions students can anticipate that colleges will get creative when the question comes to admitting the first members of the class of 2025.
Lets say, for example, Tulane University released early decisions about a month ahead of its schedule, and in those acceptances a number of students were admitted to the spring 2022 term. While those students are not committed to attend like those who applied ED, and were admitted for fall 2021, and they won’t be able to switch their enrollment to the fall 2021 term.
One thing to notice here is that colleges are approaching the decision and enrollment process in a different way in current year to properly manage their yield (the percentage of admitted students who enroll) and account for a fall class which can be larger than normal because of students who deferred from the previous admissions cycle.
In a year with an exceptional number of test-optional and flexible admissions procedure due to the COVID-19, the University of Georgia revealed to us a first look at how optional test-optional was this year. As per the UGA admissions office, 30% of early action admits did not submit an SAT or ACT score.
